Apps Starting On Their Own

I recently installed my head unit and it worked fine for a month. However, recently it will start up apps on it's own without me touching anything. It will just start about every app I have on the unit. It's like the unit is possessed and does it's own thing.

I may have figured out what was happening. It seems that when I downloaded apps from the Google Play Store, I turned on Google Play Protect. This would cause Play Protect to scan all the apps in the foreground rather than silently in the background. Once Play Protect was disabled, the problem went away.
