Android update possible? (How)?)
#1
Hi, I have a single din unit in my old camper.
Unit: JY-UMS01P2

Currently running Android 6.0.1 I believe.
I want to update to a newer version of Android.

What are my options and how to actually perform the update?

Thanks in advance.

You can update with this file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NxlI7ZjofjlPdThJ9v4y6cnERbyHLbtu/view

Following are the notes for the update:
1) You need to unzip the updated files on the Windows system.and then copy all the unzipped files (not the folder ) to the USB, which is formatted as FAT32.
and then insert it into the USB port which on the back of the head unit, it will be updated automatically.

2) Please do not unzip the files on the USB.

3) You better use the 32GB or less than 32GB USB.

Thank you, I will try this.
Based on the name of the zip file I assume this is then the latest Android 6?
Any chance of updates to version 8 or 9?

And one important question, will my apps and settings be saved or lost?
Not a problem if not, just one to know upfront.

Thanks.

Hmm, that was not the answer I was hoping for as that will render the unit rather quickly “useless”. Reason being Apps requiring a recent Android version....

Your head unit is really older system which has been stopped the manufacture before 2 years. you can check other newer system head unit. they maybe compatible with your apps.
