Remote wire?

Hi, can anyone tell me, what this cable is?
   

I need a remote cable for my active subwoofer.
I know that the orange/black is the remote wire, but i wanted to know
if this free grey one is also a remote, before I cut into the orange/black cable.

tHIS is not the remote cable.
